The James G. Elliott Company, Inc., founded in 1984, is one of the nation’s largest outsourced media sales companies for advertising, exhibits, and sponsorships. With offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, The Elliott Company has generated nearly $800 million for specialty media brands across digital, print and events.
We help to simplify sales operations by providing our clients with a trusted alternative to managing their own staff or overseeing a patchwork of regional rep firms.

Jim Elliott oversees the overall strategic direction of Elliott Co., including financial and operational planning.
Before founding the company in 1984, he held several executive positions, including Director of Field Services at CBS Magazines and Western Advertising Manager at Road & Track Magazine.
Jim holds a degree from Occidental College. He lives in San Marino and enjoys sailing and walking his dogs in his free time.

Ryan Elliott oversees the New York office, and as COO, manages the day-to-day operations of Elliott Company, including business goals, operations and staffing, as well as support of business development.
Before joining Elliott Co., Ryan worked in the consulting divisions of two Big Four accounting firms, most recently leading the West Coast Risk Management practice of one, based in San Francisco.
He holds a BA from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. Ryan lives in the Carmel area with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and surfing.

Technology Lead
Victor Avalos has been an essential member of The Elliott Company management team for more than 20 years, using technology to enhance processes and profitability. After leading a successful IT transformation for a large corporation, Victor joined the Elliott Company, where he provides strategic, C-level consulting and has directed all technology initiatives, both internally and on behalf of clients. His work on large transformational cloud and other technology projects has resulted in significant gains in ROI.
Through his company, Manage Your Tech, Victor provides strategic services to small and medium sized businesses across many verticals including media.
Outside of work, Victor serves on the board of his local community center and as a District Chair for Scouting America in the Western Los Angeles County Council.

Sales and Marketing Management
Beth Kurup is a Los Angeles-based Account Manager for the American Chemical Society. She handles marketing programs for clients in the Western United States and manages the sales team. Beth's brings her media and marketing background and KPI focus to client strategy and to driving results.

Los Angeles Office
Lead sales analyst Craig Miller is a key player at The Elliott Company, overseeing new business opportunity, consulting project and sales analysis, managing from the company’s Los Angeles headquarters.
Over an accomplished 30-year career in advertising services, he has led dozens of client research and training projects. Craig’s industry experience includes sales roles for media brands Saturday Evening Post and The American Legion, Inc. Magazine, Forbes and Investor’s Business Daily. Craig graduated from UCLA.

Mike Runkel oversees operations for the The Elliott Company’s Chicago location, bringing decades of experience in media sales for leading B2B and consumer brands.
As Elliott’s Director of Media and Sponsorship Sales, Mike’s relentless focus on client success has grown revenues for The American Chemical Society, SME, PRSA and others. Earlier stints included sales management roles at AdWanted, Where Travel and Travel Zoo.

Strategic Advisor
Jessica Perry is a consulting advisor to The Elliott Company, bringing decades of experience as an innovator and growth leader in the online publishing and information industry. In senior commercial and operations positions at Dow Jones & Company, Conde Nast, Yahoo!, Atlantic Media and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), she forged digital transformation, instilled new practices and built new lines of business. As Chief Marketing Officer at SaaS hiring technology firm Modern Hire, Jess assembled a modern demand-generation engine.
In her project work, Jess has advised trade associations, media companies, news providers and early-stage SaaS platforms on business strategy, annuity revenue marketing, digital best practices, content planning, innovative partnerships, customer experience, data analysis, branding and marketing communications, both as primary consultant and as a subcontractor.
Jess has served as a director for leading trade associations, including the American Marketing Association and Software and Information Industry Association, and the leadership professional development and networking group, Executive Forum.

Bob has been a leader in advertising sales for decades, having managed teams and represented brands across media types - print, radio, digital and more. Throughout his career, he has grown revenue by applying creative solutions to underdeveloped assets. An ad tech innovator, Bob co-founded one of the earliest internet ad networks.
Bob was an early client of The Elliott Company, and has been a strategic advisor across its client portfolio.
